Introduction: Why Abuja Matters
As Nigeria’s capital, Abuja is more than just the political hub — it’s a city of contrasts. Urban development rises next to underserved rural communities struggling with poverty, unemployment, and the effects of climate change.
That’s where One Foundation comes in — working to close the gap through targeted, sustainable development projects that touch lives right here in Abuja.
🌿 Our Mission in Abuja
From the outskirts of Gwagwalada to Bwari, we’ve identified key challenges facing communities, including:
- Poor access to clean water
- Unemployment among youth and women
- Depleted farmlands due to climate stress
- Limited awareness on sustainable practices
Our work here is about local change with lasting impact.
🛠️ Projects We’re Proud Of
🚰 1. Clean Water for Life – Gwagwalada
We installed solar-powered boreholes in several communities, providing over 3,000 residents with access to safe, clean water and reducing waterborne diseases.
🌽 2. Youth Farming Hubs – Bwari Axis
We established a youth-focused agribusiness training hub, teaching climate-smart agriculture and entrepreneurship. Over 150 youths have graduated so far — many now running their own mini-farms.
💡 3. Women Empowerment Circles – Kuje
Through our “Women Lead the Way” initiative, we’ve trained women on renewable energy, food processing, and community organizing. These women now mentor others, multiplying the impact.
