  • Across vulnerable communities, families continue to face the harsh realities of food insecurity, preventable infant deaths, and the growing effects of climate change. Mothers struggle to provide adequate nutrition, infants lose their lives to preventable causes, and communities that depend on agriculture are increasingly threatened by environmental changes. The Okeke Nwogu Ejezie foundation( ONE Foundation) works directly with these communities to address the root causes of these challenges. Through sustainable programs, local partnerships, and community engagement, we empower families with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to build healthier, more resilient lives. Our focus is not only on providing immediate support but also creating lasting solutions that enable communities to feed their families, protect mothers and children, and adapt to environmental changes. By investing in people and sustainable systems, we aim to transform vulnerability into resilience and opportunity for future generations.

Heritage, History & Milestones

  • Our Ancestral Legacy & Inspiration: The roots of the foundation trace back to the historic legacy of Nwogu, the last son of Ejezie (the venerable founder of the Ndi Ejezie community in Ideato North LGA, Imo State). Serving as the longest-serving chief priest of his people, Nwogu exemplified a profound spirit of progressive philanthropy and hospitality. Upon the arrival of early Portuguese Christian missionaries to Nigeria, he generously donated a prime portion of his land to support their establishment and community work. In recognition of his remarkable benevolence, the Catholic Church erected a crucifix in his honor—a historic monument that continues to stand in the community to this day. Inspired by this rich ancestral heritage of giving, his grandson established The Okeke Nwogu Ejezie Foundation (ONE Foundation) to institutionalize and carry forward his grandfather’s legacy of uplifting the vulnerable.
  • 2001 – The Inception: Building upon this family legacy, the foundation was formally established as a mission-driven initiative focused on addressing critical gaps in community welfare, environmental resilience, and healthcare.
  • 2004 – Official Registration: The foundation was officially registered as a formal non-governmental organization, solidifying our legal standing and expanding our capacity for strategic partnerships and large-scale interventions.
  • Present Day: Coordinating nationwide efforts across Nigeria from our Abuja headquarters to combat climate change, alleviate food crises, and reduce infant mortality.
